In 1996, Zimex Aviation of Switzerland and CSHC again represented by Avion headed for the desert area near Korla in the Tarim Basin of Northwest China to provide onshore oil support service for ESSO, Agip, and JNOC. This time three Pilatus Porter PC-6 were mobilized to Korla and stayed there for three years.

1997 was another year of successful marketing efforts in the offshore oil support sector. This time Avion supported Helicopter Resources Pty. of Australia and China General Aviation Company (CGAC) in bidding one Sikorsky S-76 and one Bell 212 for offshore projects in Bohai Bay. The jobs started in Feb. 97 and are still on going. Clients included Chevron, Esso, Texaco, and Phillips.
